Tampa Bay Lightning draft Joe Connor, Noah Steen and Harrison Meneghin in 7th Round

The Lightning draft Joe Connor with Pick 195

Joe Connor (Joseph Connor) played his season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, where had 60 points in 50 games played. While he went undrafted in the USHL, Connor proved he could play with 31 goals and high shooting metrics. Connor is committed to play at Northeastern University next season, where he can continue showing his offensive scoring abilities and defensive physicality (via Elite Prospects Draft Guide). As a lefty forward at 5’10”, he’s known to be constantly skating hard and fast , playing with high-end talent like Matvei Gridin (via Hockey Prospects Draft Book).

The Lightning draft Noah Steen with Pick 199

Noah Steen is a Norwegian LW who played last season in Sweden, in both the Junior League and Allsvenskan. He recorded 28 points in 43 games in the Junior League with Mora IK and 14 goals in the Allsvenskan, and additionally played for Norway in both the WJC and IIHF Men’s World Championships. Known for his physicality and intensity, Steen can win the puck in tough battles (Elite Prospects and Hockey Prospects Draft Book). At 6’1″ and 19 years old, his skill development is necessary according to scouts but the compete level is not only there, but helps him be effective by generating chances down low and in the slot.

The Lightning draft Harrison Meneghin with Pick 206

With their final pick in the 2024 NHL draft, the Tampa Bay Lightning selected Harrison Meneghin, a 6’3″ goaltender from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. Meneghin is originally from South Surrey, BC and played 53 games, finishing 27-20-5 with a .919 SV% and 2.59 GAA (Elite Prospects). Though he was note featured in the Hockey Prospect Draft Black Book for goalie prospects, Meneghin was named the WHL’s Central Division Goaltender of the Year after finishing the regular season 2nd in SV% and 3rd in shutouts with 3 total (via CHL Site).
